Recognition is an important part of appreciating members and all that they do for veterans and families. It is also a way to spread the word about new or especially effective ways to fulfill our mission. National has a series of awards which usually come with a monetary award. Department also has a number of awards and trophies recognizing outstanding effort toward service. Many of them honor a Past Department President who established an award in a special area of their interest. In addition, certificates are given for accomplishment toward Auxiliary goals such as membership or Giving 10 to Education.

Scholarships are another main part of the Trophies and Awards program. It is a challenge to organize and secure unit recommendations for T&A recipients over the course of the year and make sure the deadlines for submission are met. However, this is an extremely important way to encourage participation in our programs.
