We are one of the nation’s most prominent supporters of veterans, military, and their families. The American Legion Auxiliary helps to advance the mission of The American Legion.
From helping to draft the GI Bill in 1944 to advocating for veterans on Capitol Hill, the nonpartisan American Legion Family is instrumental in advancing legislation that improves the quality of life for our nation’s veterans and servicemembers.
Vermont has a total of 40 units spread throughout the state plus our ALA Headquarters with members working the American Legion Auxiliary mission at the grassroots level. They serve Veterans at the VA Hospital in White River Junction, The Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, and countless nursing homes & in their communities.
They support our military and their families by providing care packages for our troops and sending “Thank You” cards during times of deployments, and participate in military send offs with pocket flags for these service members and blue star banners for their families.
They show their patriotism and respect for the service of these brave men & women during celebration parades & at memorial services for our fallen heroes.
