Unit development and revitalization is a program for assistance to units struggling for members or simply beginning to move forward from a low energy into enthusiasm for fulfilling their mission. Units contact headquarters with an explanation of the help they are requesting and members of this committee visit and help them form a plan to move forward.
While revitalization is not focused primarily on solving Unit disharmony and personality conflicts within the Units, conflict resolution training can help members learn to solve many of the problems that damage the Auxiliary's reputation, discourage members and distract from our mission and purpose.
Long time members especially enjoy being able to mentor new leaders on ALA protocols, ways to create effective meetings that “get things done” and build harmony in a unit. There is a guide that covers a wide range of ways to begin building unit strength and effectiveness.
